What are you doing to celebrate Thanksgiving this year?

I will be cooking for my family. I hope to spend time with my Aunt who has suffered a major stroke and seizures. Thanking God for what we have and haven't lost yet.

I'll be going to to my inlaws. My kids love seeing their Nanna and Grandpa. I can't wait to go spend time with them :) Its always a great time.

I'm going to make the turkey dance and talk in the sink as I prepare it for stuffing, and watch my kids *roll their eyes* at me since they are all now adults. It's a family tradition handed down to me... ;-)

Going to my niece's house for Thanksgiving. My sister used to host it but, as her husband's health as degenerated over the years, her daughter took over for her a couple of years ago. My other sister used ot host Christmas, but my niece has taken that over a bit, too. I guess as we, the older generation, develop health problems and the like, the banner gets passed on to the next generation. Even with al lthe health problems everyone has this year, we can be thankful of at least one mroe year of being able to spend the holidays together!

My husband, our two boys, and my sister, are doing what we love. We are having a quiet low key Thanksgiving with lots of food! THen we will head to my mom's to visit with her, my grandma, and my uncle for dessert.

I recently got back in touch with my childhood best friend - we'd been friends from toddlerhood through much of high school. She and her family are gourmet cooks, so I invited myself over. I'll bring sparkling cider... and leave the cooking to the experts!

well Im sure we will be having a dinner Im just not sure what yet . our Daughter may have to work on Thanksgiving so the plans are still up in the air.

The turkey will be flying at our table. It is the usual family gathering that is always unusual thanks to our lively conversations. We are just thankful to be happy and healthy!

I am cooking for whichever of my family members can be here, but probably late; my son grades test papers at a Kumon Learning Center and they are working the holiday so little kids can improve their abilities... whenever school is out they try to be open for the kids. So although I usually serve Thanksgiving Dinner in the early afternoon, this year it will be at 8pm.

I will be celebrating Thanksgiving dinner with my family and my parents. Then later in the evening my family will go to my husband's side of the family to have dessert and coffee. We've been doing this since we've been married and so now its part of our tradition.

My husband and I are spending the holiday with my in-laws or at least I hope I will. I have Systemic Lupus and so this is a very hard time of the year for me. My Rheumotologist practically puts me on house arrest until the cold and flu season is over because of my immune system, but we do our best. If I can't go, a heaping plate is always sent home to me and I always do some of the cooking and send it over.

This year we will be celebrating Thanksgiving at my home. I will be cooking the lion's share of the menu. And hopefully afterwords the ladies will be able to rest up and get ready for some midnight Black Friday shopping.

For others, we'll collect our free turkeys from the grocery stores and hand them over to the local food bank. For us, we'll headed up to the Italian Market for turkey thighs and other fixin's and have a manageable meal (but still have leftovers and sandwiches) for two at home. And, after dinner? We plop in our first Christmas movie DVD of the season, have homemade pie halfway through the movie, and a sandwich after. hohoho THAT's when the Christmas season starts. I don't care what TV tries to force us to believe.

I will be cooking a tofurkey and spending the day with my boyfriend and the felines. I may have to pick up some special treats for the felines so that they can enjoy the day, too, since they can't have tofurkey.

My family is quite spread out so we all meet at a residence inn type hotel (with full kitchen) and we cook our own meal at the hotel. Then spend time with the family playing in the pool, or doing shopping. We do different locations each year so we get in a bit of sight seeing too.

we are having a huge thanksgiving meal with all of our children and grandkids about 6 weeks ago we bought a new home so this is a very specail family thanksgiving to us to have it here in our new place with alot of room for everyone to enjoy each other

Funny you should ask, we have been trying to decide this very thing and the day is creeping up on us. I broke my hip three weeks ago so cooking for us is out of the question. We are trying to figure out if I'll be alright going to a Cracker Barrel here in the neighborhood. We love their down home cooking and think this would be a good idea if I can sit that long and also be safe walking through the store and restaurant. I wonder how crowded they get.

This Thanksgiving will be the first one in the situation (too long story, but based on family member - affair - leaving). So, it's a bit rocky. But this is also the first year we are trying out TOFURKEY! :o) Meat free "turkey" and just purchased to try it out first. Wish us luck! ;o)

We will be celebrating at home, just my husband, my son and me. I'm not sure exactly what the menu is for Thanksgiving day, but I know it's not turkey, because my son doesn't really love it, and we want Thanksgiving to have a meal everyone loves. :) We will still do a turkey over the weekend, though, probably on Saturday.

We're also planning on going to see a movie Thanksgiving night, and then shopping at midnight for a few hours. :) My five year old son says that Thanksgiving and black Friday are the best days of the whole year.

FAMILY...With most of my family away or working, it's the first holiday that we will all be together this year...I do most of the cooking, with everyone chipping in, even my 81 year old mother...the most fun is all the grandkids being there...FUN..FUN..FUN...

I'm celebrating a quiet day at home with my husband and 3 kids. My MIL lives downstairs from us, and made it a point to say she isn't cooking so she'll be spending dinnertime with us as well.

We will be going to my parents house for Thanksgiving and for the weekend! It's something that we do every year! We eat too much food, play games, laugh (and sometimes cry), go see Santa and the guys even do a little hunting!

I'm 36 1/2 years old and have only ever spent 1 Thanksgiving without my parents!

Eating with the family! Then checking out all of the paper adds and making a list for the Black Friday sales! I don't get much sleep, if any at all, between Thursday morning and Friday night. But, I do get most of my Christmas shopping done plus some for the elderly family members.

I will be on my own this Thanksgiving. Just me and the cats, but that's OK...I'll still cook the turkey and potatoes etc. They will just last longer. Thanks God for freezers!!! All my relatives live 2000 miles away and none of us has the money for traveling.

We will be at a friend's house for the family Thanksgiving dinner and I am bringing my famous cornbread casserole.
It's a bit of a drive, but it will be great to see all the family and friends. There will be a huge Turkey and all the fixings.

This year we aren't doing much at all for Thanksgiving. We can't afford to bring Christopher home, so he's going to my aunt and uncle's house. It will just be the 3 of us this year, and I doubt we'll even cook a turkey. Since my neighbors are all going away, we'll be watching and taking care of a handful of dogs.

We are having the traditional turkey dinner with all the fixings. My husband and I were married in 1971 and just celebrated our 40th anniversary in May. We had our first child, then our second and then a third. They have blessed us with 9 grandchildren and we adopted a child. So our family counting children, grandchildren and in-law children now amounts to 19 people in all. So we have a full house for Thanksgiving and have much to be thankful for this holiday.

What are you doing to celebrate Thanksgiving this year?

We are giving Thanksgiving ingredients to our church for the preparation of baskets so those less fortunate can enjoy a meal.

We will be going to my son & DIL's to celebrate with our new grandson, Jax. His grandparents on his mothers side, and 5 other family members on her side will be joining us. We will all bring a side dish and dessert. This will be the 1st meal that Jax will be able to eat as he is now 5 months old. He can have mashed potatoes w/gravy and sweet potatoes. It will be great.
Do to my recent disability I will not be able to go out & shop (it is too crazy that day) so I will have to hope I can get some shopping done after this rush & before the last minute rush.

We're blessed to be able to spend Thanksgiving with both of our daughters and their families. This includes four lovely grandchildren to hug and love! We'll be going to a large gathering with friends and family on Thursday and then on Saturday my husband has been asked to cook his Italian spaghetti for another large family gathering. It will be a time of hugs, love and laughter.

We are celebrating at my sisters house. usually it is her house every year, beccause she has the room to accomodate everyone. there is close to 30 people, so everyone makes a dish to bring along and makes it easier. i like it because there are lot of new desserts to try!!

I am having 2 Thanksgiving celebrations! :) The first one on Thanksgiving Day at my family get-together. There will be 50-70 people there .. everyone brings dishes to share. It's at my Uncle Steve's this year. The next dinner will be at my oldest son's group home--he has Down Syndrome. Mom & I will be fixing homemade turkey/noodles/hot rolls, mashed potatoes, etc. This will take place on Saturday, November 26. So lots of food to eat & people to visit with all day. :)

I will be cooking dinner for 15, including my husband and children, my mother who turned 81 this week, three of my brothers and their families and my one sister. A friend or two may drop by also......It will be a day of food, fun and family! It doesn't get any better than that! I will be 62 in January and have spent every Thanksgiving with my parents and siblings.

I'm going to grandma's, she doesn't cook anymore so we're all bringing things to assemble the feat at her place. Everyone knows I'm not the best cook, so they put me in charge of picking up desserts. It can be a struggle with two sides of the family to choose from and now we have kids that are grown and scattered. This year we are spending it with my husbands family in Los Angeles. We won't see our married kids, but in exchange we get them all for Christmas. Next year we reverse the order so everyone gets a chance. So far it all works!

No big plans. My older son and d-i-l will not be making the trip down here. Our beautiful 1 year old grandson & granddaughter are not the greatest travelers (it's a 7 hour ride) and my d-i-l works on Wednesday.My son says thats the worst day to drive down, they did that 2 years ago before they were pregnant and refuse to do it with the babies. So it's just me and hubby and my youngest son. We will skype with the other half of the family (the babies finally respond to us on the computer - and giggle and wave) and we will prepare a traditional turkey with all the trimmings. Hubby & son will pitch because I cannot do much for too long with my disability and pain issues. We will decide when we want to eat and be very casual about the time. If we hear of someone who needs a place at that table they will be invited in, otherwise skyping and a quiet dinner, counting our blessings and missing those who cannot be with us both in the physically sense and spiritual sense. I don't do the Friday shopping anymore, sort of depresses me that I can't but I may do some online shopping. Some people are done on my list, some p[eople it's a matter of ordering or picking up, but there are 2 people who I am at a loss this year. Oh well, something will come to me....

This will be a quiet Thanksgiving for my husband & me: Daughter & son-in-law - to his parents' house for Thanksgiving, here for Christmas; Son, daughter-in-law & grandchildren in Japan, can't make it for either Thanksgiving or Christmas this year. My husband & I enjoy cooking together. The Thanksgiving menu this year is Schweizerschnitzel and all the trimmings. Turkey will have to wait until Christmas this year.

It's going to be myself, my Mom, and our dog Sophie....so I'll be cooking for us. I'm adding a third bird this year for Soph. She'll have her very own cornish hen! All the goods will be made along with that. We'll be staying-in and keeping warm and toasty this Thanskgiving. I hope those whithout a home or roof over their heads will find some place just as warm this holiday season. The three of were homeless for 3 yrs so we know all too well how that is. My husband and I will join one sister, her husband and two adult kids, another sister, her husband and three adult kids, my brother, his wife and two kids, and another sister and her two kids at my parents' home for dinner and either football or a Christmas movie if football isn't on tv. And I'll complain about the football even though it's impossible to hear a movie with all those people in the house. Probably there will be two boyfriends and one girlfriend as well.

For Thanksgiving this year, we will be cooking for the first time ever in our new home. We will have the neighbors and some family here to celebrate with us as we eat a traditional Thanksgiving dinner.

We haven't actually set the date to eat yet, still trying to get everyone together. But when we do eat, we will have it in our home with the kids and their friends. We will be sitting down praying, then while eating we will go around the table saying what we are thankful for this year, and then after dinner but before dessert we meet in the Living room to show off our talents.

My husband will be preparing the Turkey and his home made delicious stuffing made with love. Thanksgiving wil be spent sitting around the table with loved ones enjoying a wonderful meal and catching up on things. Thanksgiving is all about Family, friends and all we have to be thankful for. My favorite Holiday!

This is the 1st year my daughter is living out of town (only about 1 1/2 hours) but she's always worked for the holidays as an Emergency Vet Tech so we're used to changing things according to her schedule. However, this year with her being out of town we decided to hold our "family" thanksgiving on the Following Saturday so all 3 of my kids can be with us. The great part is that it frees us up to go out and let me have someone else cook for Thanksgiving! I'm not sure I'm going to know how to 'not' cook the dinner.

Thanksgiving is the best holiday ever because there are no false prefaces, no hassles, and tons of family love and gathering together over simple recipes that have been made year after year.

I cook for all my family and any friends they bring with them. My grand daughter chops up a thanksgiving dinner for her pony from the ends and pieces of my ingredients. My kids all enjoy demonstrateing new gourmet recipes they have collected. My son always contributes wild game and mushrooms making our celebrationa unique dinning experience.

What am I doing to celebrate Thanksgiving this year?
My husband and I just moved back to Florida so this year we will be alone. But I will still cook the tradition Turkey, with pork apple & raisins and dressing mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, green beans, corn, a green salad and rolls. Desserts, Sugar free chocolate pie, pumpkin pie with whipping cream. Why so much food for 2 people? My husband use to be a Pastor and we use to have a church wide even if there was anyone alone on Thanksgiving come to the church and we would feed them. It was always so much fun. The church was always full and we would always sing after words and roll out the door. Those were good times! We also have 4 children all on the west coast with 12 grandchildren and 2 great grands. We will see them on the computer. Praise the Lord!

I will be going to my parents house for Thanksgiving Dinner. I am in charge of making the mashed potatoes. Everyone loves them. I add sour cream and cream cheese and they are so good. This will be the first Thanksgiving dinner since my husband died. I've been a mess for awhile. I am honestly really not looking forward to dinner its going to be so hard without him there.

This is the second Thanksgiving that we have been living on our boat (since we lost our house) ... we've made many more improvements since that first year. I now have a convection oven that is large enough to cook our turkey. Last year I ordered one from the grocery store and went to pick it up and it was still in the plastic bag, fully cooked, but had to be warmed in an oven. I was very frustrated and explained that I didn't have an open... So this year we are very thankful to still have a roof over our heads (with less leaks than last year) and have an OVEN to cook our turkey! We feel very blessed to have found our home.
